Sharing the News with Jaime

Jaime and I had decided to train for a triathlon. Well, I was feeling sick for some time at the beginning of training and was feeling overtired. I assumed, "Duh, getting in shape is never easy." But after three weeks of no improvement, I had an inkling of a thought that maybe, just maybe this wasn't an issue of getting into shape--but I didn't dare hope. I dismissed this thought and waited 2 more weeks; I honestly didn't know what I was going to do regardless of the outcome. I had emotions that ranged from, "That would be SO awesome!!!" to "But yikes! TWO babies would be too hard." Up until I bought the home test, I couldn't tell which emotion was winning.

Once I saw that positive, suddenly it was the thing I wanted so badly and I could NOT wait to tell Jaime! Life was sweet at that moment!!!

So here's how I decided to tell Jaime: got Adrienne's wooden blocks and spelled out, "Due March 28th" and put the baby gift bag in the crib for an additional hint. When Jaime got home from work and was getting ready to go running, I asked him to please change Adrienne's diaper. I secretly followed him into the nursery and filmed his reaction. You can see it took him completely by surprise!

At our 20 week ultrasound appointment, the pronouncement that we were going to have a son was so elating to our little family that it took a while to digest it!
